Richmond area players had a great Sunday, March 2 in the bracketed swiss game at the Williamsburg Regional, winning five of the eight brackets.
The team of Willem Vet, Jean Oakey, Lou Einwick and Francis Terminella won bracket 2; Randall Holden, Ruth Miles, Tony Graziano and Debra Gardner won bracket 3; Melba Jolley, Virginia Cash, Sarah Browning and Margaret Anderson won bracket 4; Barry and Winnie Fratkin and Bryan and Darlene Selz won bracket 5; and finally Bruce and Scott Belleman and Jerry and Fay Rosenthal won bracket 8.
Several players were in the top 10 of their MP brackets for most points won:
In the 0-300 group the Selz’s won 20.85 for 9th place while Debra Gardner won 20.82 points.In the 300-750 category, Richard Klaas was first with 32.74 points followed by the Anne and Harry Alferink 31.52, who tied for 5th. Francis Terminella was 10th among District 6 leaders with 26.51. In the 750-3000 group Becky Duty and Paul McGowan were 5th and 6th respectively with 44.72 and 43.53 points.
There were 1,250 players competing. Congratulations to all.
