We had 228 tables, a record for a summer sectional. There were 40 tables and five brackets for Sunday’s Swiss, the second best turnout ever. Sunday’s Bracket 1 was balanced and strong. Seeing the room full with 42 tables Friday and Saturday mornings was a great sight. Over 300 different people played, 258 earned master points totaling 1,033. There were nine sectionals held across the country last weekend and we had more tables than anyone except for one in Texas.
Winnie and I would like to thank the many people who contributed to the success including Harry and Anne Alferink for coordinating the hospitality; George Lewis and Ed Kinlaw for assisting Anne Duty in directing and making the pre-dealt boards; Richard Deyerle and Mark Dahl who gave the morning lectures; and Anne Atwood for being partnership chair. Thanks also to the many people who brought snacks and food to supplement what we bought. Finally, what a a great job by Ed Kinlaw’s daughter who was our only caddy for 40 tables. Once again Anne Duty did a great job handling and directing so many tables.
And thanks to everyone who played.
